A.I.N 2017 Fashion Show Recap
“If you’re not wearing the Right Accessories, then you might as well be Nude!” AIN
I love spending my weekends fashionably!!! Last Saturday I had the opportunity to spend my evening at the elegant Ese Azenabor’s Showroom for the annual “Accessories in the Nude” Fashion show produced by Dallas’s own Meko Krout and Willie Johnson.
This show was nothing less than perfect and for a great cause, proceeds from the show were donated to “The Birthday Party Project” a 501 (c) (3) with a mission to bring joy to homeless children through the magic of birthdays. Such an amazing and loving way to give back to the community. Since I’m the Black Emily Post, you know I arrived on time and ready to meet, greet, and enjoy fashion. Did I mention complimentary MVP Vodka,? Yasssss!!! Chile I don’t drink, but my girlfriends enjoyed it. I had a crisp sprite with a little cranberry back….it just soothed my palette. It was great to see all my industry friends, especially Host LeeAnn Locken, the mouth of the South and the star of the Real Housewives of Dallas appearing on Bravo on August 14th.
The next hour was spent listening to the beats of DJ M Knight, once he played Bruno Mar the tone was set, honey!!.
Now the show begins, decorative touches included floral fabrics, lace trims, and ruffled necklines. Josette Couture added touches of color including the flowing signature fabrics, which was used on a red and black floral chiffon dress unexpectedly paired with high-waisted pleated pants in a similar shade. The most elite designs of Dallas attended the runway.

The logistics of the show were impeccable, the models were able to cohesively walk the runway hitting multiple areas of the venue. It wasn’t your typical runway fashion show. Very impressive Willie Johnson.!!
After receiving a record-setting number of submissions, judges for the 2017 A.I.N designer of the year announced the winner at the show. Bow Tie Mike, a Dallas Native with a creative and unique style who sets the bar when it comes to bow tie design. ‘Surprised’ would be an understatement,” he told me of his win on Saturday. This is his dream and he couldn’t see himself doing anything else.
Mike’s journey in fashion started 5 years ago, after his boredom of the basic bow-tie. He was searching for a particular accessory he thought would tie his outfit together: a raw bedazzled bow tie. “So I decided, you know what, I’ll make it,” he said.
Bow-tie Mike plans to expand his line and his website is launching next month. Bow Tie Mike
